Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented
Manual Test Engineer
to ensure the quality and reliability of our applications. While the primary focus is on manual testing, the role also requires basic automation skills to help build and maintain a small suite of automated test cases.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Design

  • Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test data.

Manual Testing

  • Execute functional, integration, regression, smoke, and user-acceptance tests.
  • Identify, document, and track defects using tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar.
  • Perform exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and usability issues.

Automation (Basic)

  • Create and maintain a small set of automated scripts for critical regression scenarios.
  • Work with automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress) to execute simple automated tests.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and QA leads to ensure a high-quality product release.
  • Provide clear, concise test reports and defect status updates.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

  • Minimum 2+ years in manual software testing.
  • Exposure to automated testing tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and QA methodologies.
  • Familiarity with defect-tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail).
  • Ability to write and maintain basic test scripts in any one language (Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
  • Knowledge of API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured).
  • Exposure to performance testing basics (JMeter, Locust).
