Job Summary:

We are seeking two highly skilled and senior Cloud/DevOps Engineers with deep expertise in PowerShell-based automation and bootstrapping. This role is critical for designing, implementing, and maintaining the automated setup and configuration of our Windows-based server environments from the ground up. The ideal candidates will be experts in using PowerShell for large-scale infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment, ensuring our systems are scalable, secure, and consistently configured.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advanced PowerShell Scripting: Develop, manage, and maintain complex PowerShell scripts and modules to automate all aspects of the infrastructure lifecycle.
  • Infrastructure Bootstrapping: Design and own the end-to-end bootstrapping process for Windows Server environments on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), ensuring new servers are provisioned, configured, and application-ready with minimal manual intervention.
  • Desired State Configuration (DSC): Implement and manage PowerShell DSC to enforce and maintain consistent configurations across the server fleet, preventing configuration drift.
  • Automated Provisioning: Build and enhance automated workflows for provisioning virtual machines, storage, and networking components using PowerShell, ARM templates, or Terraform.
  • Application Deployment: Create robust PowerShell scripts to automate the deployment and configuration of applications and their dependencies.
  • Tooling and Integration: Utilize and integrate package management tools like Chocolatey and scripting for cloud-native services (e.g., Azure Functions, AWS Lambda) to streamline processes.
  • Security & Compliance: Embed security best practices within automation scripts, including secret management, access control, and adherence to compliance standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: 7-8 years of professional experience in IT infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, or DevOps, with a strong focus on Windows environments.
  • PowerShell Expertise: Expert-level proficiency in PowerShell scripting, including module development, error handling, and performance tuning.
  • Bootstrapping & Automation: Demonstrable, hands-on experience building complete bootstrapping and automated provisioning solutions for server infrastructure.
  • Cloud Platforms: In-depth knowledge of a major cloud provider, preferably Azure or AWS.
  • Configuration Management: Proven experience with PowerShell Desired State Configuration (DSC).
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Familiarity with IaC concepts and tools such as ARM Templates or Terraform.
  • Operating Systems: Deep understanding of Windows Server operating systems (2016, 2019, 2022).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with package managers like Chocolatey or WinGet.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins) and integrating PowerShell automation.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and other core Windows services.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a distributed cloud environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) are a plus.
