Legal Assistant

Job Summary:
As a Legal Assistant, you will provide administrative and legal support to attorneys or legal managers. You will assist with preparing legal documents, maintaining case files, conducting research, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily legal tasks. This role is ideal for someone with a strong eye for detail, organizational skills, and an interest in law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, format, and proofread legal documents including contracts, affidavits, and court filings.
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings for review by legal professionals.
- Organize and maintain legal files, case records, and correspondence.
- Assist with case preparation by preparing hearing bundles, client files, or trial exhibits.
- Monitor deadlines and manage legal calendars (court dates, meetings, filing deadlines).
- Coordinate with internal departments, courts, clients, and external counsel as needed.
- File legal documents with courts and government agencies in compliance with procedures.
- Handle confidential documents and maintain strict confidentiality standards.
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering legal correspondence, and billing support.
Required Skills :
- Bachelors degree in Law, Legal Studies, or a related field (or pursuing law degree).
- X+ years of experience in a legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal role.
- Solid understanding of legal terminology and legal documentation processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with legal management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase, or similar) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Discretion and professionalism in dealing with sensitive or confidential information.
