About Us:

We are looking for an experienced Java Backend Developer to join our growing fintech engineering team. You will be working on core backend services powering our payment gateway platform, handling high-volume transactions with a focus on security, scalability, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices for payment processing.
  • Build and optimize RESTful APIs, SOAP APIs, supporting JSON, XML, and ISO8583 message formats for merchant integrations and internal services.
  • Implement core transaction flows: authorization, capture, settlement, refunds.

System Architecture & Performance

  • Ensure backend systems are scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant.
  • Work on transaction monitoring, reconciliation, and settlement services.
  • Optimize database queries, indexing, and caching for high performance.

Integration & Compliance

  • Integrate with card schemes (Visa/Mastercard), banks, and alternative payment methods.
  • Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, AML, and regional regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate with DevOps to deploy services on cloud environments (AWS/Azure).

Collaboration & Support

  • Partner with product managers, QA testers, and frontend developers to deliver features end-to-end.
  • Support production issues, ensuring high availability and reliability of services.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of backend development experience in Java (Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate).
  • Strong experience with REST APIs, JSON, and microservices architecture.
  • Proficiency in SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).
  • Familiarity with messaging queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of payment gateway flows and transaction lifecycles.
  • Experience with cloud deployment (AWS/Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of cryptographic methods for secure payments.
  • Exposure to KYC/AML systems and compliance workflows.
  • Experience in high-availability distributed systems.
