Automation Tester - Software

Our unique cloud-based health and care catering software, SoupedUp, manages the complexity of resident's diets and combines hospitality and lifestyle to enhance the residents experience. We are the number one catering software provider to the aged care industry in Australia.

We need someone to start immediately to create and execute automated testing for our web-based application, working closely with our development team on streamlining bugfixes and deployment processes.

As a contractor, you will issue us with a fortnightly invoice for hours worked, however we are expecting a full-time ongoing commitment (Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week). You will be required to use your own computer however we will pay for/provide all required software.

Key Responsibilities

In this position you will be joining an Agile project team, collaborating with key business stakeholders to analyse requirements and user stories, preparing test cases and test planning using scripting tools such as PHPUNIT and Selenium. You will be responsible for creating test cases and scripts and keeping scripts maintained and updated as new functionality and improvements are made to the platform. You will be performing UAT, functional, regression and integration testing in addition to front end UI and API level testing.

Role Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in automation testing including experience in automating UI testing
  • You should have strong experience with software testing in PHP (phpunit), as well as selenium, and be able to build Automated Testing frameworks from scratch
  • Experience in performance testing preferably using Jmeter
  • Ability to effectively understand requirements and design documents to create functional test cases, with demonstrable experience in creating test cases, test data and retesting defects
  • Familiarity with Laravel
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jmeter, Browserstack and Zephyr
  • Familiarity with CI/CD environments
  • Experience in logging and tracking defects from open to close, using issue tracking tools such as JIRA.
