Quality Engineer

Role & responsibilities

incoming Inspection & Verification

• Perform incoming material inspection as per control plan, sampling plan , and drawings.
• Verify supplier-provided inspection documents .
• Ensure correct identification, traceability, and FIFO system for incoming materials.

2. Supplier Quality Management

• Coordinate with suppliers for Non-Conformance Report closures and corrective actions.
• Support suppliers with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) submissions and approval.
• Participate in supplier audits and help improve supplier process capability.

3. Defect Analysis & Problem-Solving

• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for incoming material rejections using 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone methods.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify their effectiveness.
• Escalate chronic supplier issues and work with cross-functional teams for resolution.

4. Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain inspection records, NCRs, and quality dashboards.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.
• Prepare reports on incoming rejection trends, PPM levels, and supplier quality performance.

5. Continuous Improvement

• Drive initiatives to reduce incoming material rejections and improve supplier PPM.
• Recommend improvements in inspection methods, gauges, and automation.
• Participate in cost reduction and value engineering activities.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, MSA, and SPC.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings & GD&T.
• Hands-on experience with inspection tools (Vernier, Micrometer, CMM, Profile Projector).
• Problem-solving skills using 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone Analysis.
