Proprietary parts: Electrical

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Sourcing Electrical & Electronics

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for electrical proprietary parts (e.g., Motor, controllers, wiring

harness, connectors, BMS, chargers).

• Identify and evaluate suppliers specializing in automotive-grade electronics, ensuring compliance with

technical, quality, and cost requirements.

• Negotiate supplier agreements and contracts with favorable terms for proprietary E&E components.

1. Supplier Relationship Management

• Build and maintain long-term partnerships with suppliers of electrical/electronic components.

• Monitor and assess supplier performance in terms of quality, reliability, delivery, and cost.

• Resolve technical or delivery-related issues in collaboration with engineering and quality teams.

1. Cost Management and Optimization

• Lead cost-reduction initiatives in electrical parts through value engineering, volume leverage, and

alternate sourcing.

• Benchmark prices and track industry trends in semiconductors, electronics, and EV component markets.

• Manage sourcing budgets for E&E parts aligned with financial objectives.

1. Quality and Compliance

• Partner with R&D and Quality teams to ensure all electronic parts meet automotive standards (ISO/TS,

AIS, etc.) and functional requirements.

• Oversee supplier quality processes, including audits, inspections, and corrective actions for E&E suppliers.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry-specific standards for electronic systems.

1. Innovation and Technology Collaboration

• Collaborate with Engineering and R&D to source next-gen EV technologies in electronics (e.g., advanced

controllers, telematics, sensors).

• Involve suppliers early in design & development to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.

• Encourage suppliers to propose innovations in electronics and electrical systems to improve EV

performance and reliability.

1. Risk Management

• Develop risk mitigation strategies for critical E&E components (chip shortages, import dependencies,

supply disruptions).

• Establish contingency plans and maintain alternate supplier bases for mission-critical parts.

• Monitor global electronics market risks (geopolitical, raw material shortages, semiconductor supply

chain).

1. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Act as the key interface between Procurement, Engineering (E&E), R&D, and Production teams to ensure

smooth sourcing and integration of proprietary parts.

• Support new product development with timely supplier onboarding and sourcing readiness.

1. Reporting & Analytics

• Provide management reports on sourcing status, cost savings, and supplier performance for E&E parts.

• Use analytics to identify opportunities for cost, quality, and lead time improvements.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in sourcing/procurement of electrical and electronic components in

automotive/EV industry.

• Strong technical knowledge of automotive electrical parts (Motor, controllers, wiring harness, connectors,

BMS, chargers).

• Proven expertise in supplier development, contract negotiation, and cost management.

• Familiarity with automotive quality standards (ISO/TS16949, AIS, IPC for electronics).

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering, R&D, and operations.

• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP/Oracle/Dynamics) is a plus.
