Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network security devices (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, proxy servers, load balancers).
  • Monitor and analyze network traffic to identify and mitigate potential threats.
  • Implement and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures in line with industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify risks and recommend remediation steps.
  • Respond to security incidents and provide root cause analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.).
  • Work with cross-functional teams to design secure network architectures for new projects.
  • Manage network access control and identity authentication systems.
  • Keep up to date with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in network and security engineering roles.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Check Point, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, VLAN, routing, and switching concepts.
  • Experience with IDS/IPS, SIEM tools, endpoint security, and DLP solutions.
  • Knowledge of network protocols and packet analysis tools (Wireshark, tcpdump).
  • Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is an advantage.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA Security, CCNP Security, CEH, CISSP, or Fortinet NSE preferred.
