• Actively collaborate with product managers, software developers, quality assurance engineers, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to thoroughly understand product features, functionality, and technical specifications.
• Conduct interviews, participate in product demos and technical discussions, and review design documents, specifications, and code comments to gather accurate and comprehensive information.
• Proactively identify documentation needs and gaps throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Plan, write, and edit a variety of technical documentation.
• Create engaging and informative content using various formats, including text, images, diagrams, videos, and interactive elements where appropriate.
• Translate complex technical concepts and jargon into clear, concise, and easily understandable language tailored to different target audiences.
• Maintain and update existing documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and relevance in response to product updates, bug fixes, and user feedback.
• Establish and follow a version control system for documentation.
• Regularly review and audit documentation for clarity, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines.
• Analyze feedback from users, support teams, and internal stakeholders to identify areas for improvement in existing documentation and inform the creation of new content.
• Participate in user testing and gather insights to enhance the usability and effectiveness of documentation.
• Adhere to established documentation standards, style guides, and templates to ensure consistency across all documentation.
• Utilize and become proficient in various documentation tools and technologies.
• Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to documentation planning and :
• Bachelors degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in the software industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong command of grammar, punctuation, and style.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate documentation.
• Basic understanding of software development processes (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, SDLC).
• Familiarity with various software applications, operating systems, and web technologies.
• Proficiency in using documentation tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and ideally experience with dedicated Help Authoring Tools (HATs) like MadCap Flare or Adobe RoboHelp.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, software products, and evolving technical requirements.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to research and synthesize complex information.
• Experience documenting APIs (RESTful, SOAP) and SDKs.
• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) for documentation.
• Basic understanding of programming concepts and scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
• Experience with creating video tutorials and other multimedia content.
• Knowledge of information architecture and user experience (UX) principles as applied to documentation.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
