We are seeking a passionate and experienced Data Operations Manager to lead our AI / ML / Computer Vision data workflows.

This is a full-time hybrid role based in Bangalore, with flexibility for partial work from home.

You will oversee end-to-end data operations, manage a growing team, and drive process efficiency across annotation, deployment, and data quality initiatives.

The role demands both leadership and hands-on technical skills in Python, SQL, and cloud data infrastructure (AWS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a small team responsible for deployments, investigations, and dataset integrity.
  • Data Operations Management:
  • Oversee daily data workflows, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and quality in all operations.
  • Investigation & Debugging:
  • Own the investigation lifecycle — plan and execute deployments, troubleshoot data or model performance issues, and ensure root cause resolution.
  • Process Optimization:
  • Continuously improve operational processes, documentation, and internal tooling to ensure scalability and repeatability.
  • Metrics & Reporting:
  • Define and track key metrics to measure deployment performance, data quality, and investigation impact over time.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner closely with Computer Vision engineers, annotation vendors, and customer-facing teams to ensure operational alignment.
  • Vendor Management:
  • Manage external annotation workforces, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with data operations in AI / ML / Computer Vision environments.
  • Prior leadership experience, formally or informally leading teams or initiatives.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Python: scripting, data processing, and automation.
  • SQL: metrics tracking, data validation, and dashboarding.
  • AWS: services like S3, Batch, and Lambda for managing data infrastructure.
  • Voxel51 / FiftyOne or equivalent tools for dataset exploration and quality assurance.
  • Experience in vendor coordination (especially with data labeling or annotation teams).
  • Familiarity with data privacy and compliance frameworks (GDPR experience is a strong plus).
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, start-up or ambiguous environments.
