Job Description: SAP MM/SD Consultant (Implementation)

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive SAP MM/SD Consultant with 1–3 years of hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA or ECC implementation/support projects. The ideal candidate should have strong functional knowledge of SAP MM and/or SD modules, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work closely with Japanese-speaking stakeholders. This role involves end-to-end implementation activities, requirement gathering, testing, documentation, and user support.

Key Responsibilities

1. SAP Project Implementation

2. 
   • Participate in end-to-end SAP MM/SD module implementation cycles (Design Build Test Deploy Support).

3. • Assist in blueprint preparation, functional specifications, configuration, and integration testing.
4. • Analyze business requirements related to procurement, inventory management, order-to-cash, pricing, billing, and logistics.
5. • Configure SAP MM/SD functionalities including:
6. • MM: Procurement, PR/PO, Source List, MRP, Inventory Management, Goods Receipt/Issue, STO, Vendor Master.

7. 
   • SD: Sales Orders, Delivery, Billing, Pricing, Credit Management, Customer Master, Output Control.

8. Stakeholder Collaboration

9. 
   • Work closely with Japanese and Indian business users, IT teams, and project managers.

10. • Translate and support communication between onsite/offshore teams (English–Japanese).

11. 
    • Conduct workshops, capture requirements, and support UAT with bilingual communication.

12. Documentation & Reporting

    • Prepare functional design documents (FDD), configuration documents, test scripts, and end-user manuals.

14. 
    • Maintain project trackers, issue logs, and daily/weekly status reports.

15. Testing & Validation

    • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing.

17. 
    • Validate business processes and ensure alignment with global templates.

18. Production Support

    • Resolve incidents, service requests, and enhancement requirements.

20. • Perform root-cause analysis, provide workarounds, and collaborate with technical teams for fixes.
21. • Ensure SLAs and timelines are met.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical/Functional Skills

• • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in SAP MM and/or SD module implementation or support.
• • Basic understanding of cross-functional integration with FI, PP, and WM.
• • Experience preparing functional specs for ABAP developments (nice-to-have).
• • Familiarity with S/4HANA processes is an advantage.

Language Skills

• • Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N3 or above – mandatory.
• • Ability to converse, read, and write business Japanese for meetings and documentation.
• • Strong English communication skills.

Professional Skills

• • Strong analytical ability and problem-solving mindset.
• • Good understanding of business processes related to supply chain, sales, procurement, and logistics.
• • Ability to work in fast-paced cross-cultural environments.
• • Strong teamwork and stakeholder engagement skills.

Education

• • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, IT, or related field.
• • SAP certification in MM or SD (preferred but not mandatory).

Good to Have

• • Experience in working with Japanese clients or Japan-based projects.
• • Exposure to ITIL processes and ticketing tools (ServiceNow, JIRA, Remedy).
• • Knowledge of S/4HANA migration or rollout projects.
