Job summary

The Head of Accounts will lead and manage the SME's entire accounting function, ensuring financial records are accurate, compliant, and maintained in a timely manner. This role requires a hands-on leader who can supervise the day-to-day operations while also providing strategic financial insights to senior management for decision-making. A deep understanding of Indian accounting standards and regulations is essential for this position.

Key responsibilities

 Taxation and compliance

* Ensure strict compliance with all Indian tax laws, including GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory regulations.

* Oversee the timely and accurate filing of all tax returns.

* Coordinate and support various audits, including statutory, internal, and tax audits.

 Internal controls and systems

* Develop, implement, and enforce robust internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial records.

* Oversee the company's accounting software and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.

 Experience

* 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with significant experience in a managerial or leadership role within an Indian SME environment.

* Proven experience in end-to-end accounting.

 Technical skills

* Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, Vlookups) and other Microsoft Office tools.

* Hands-on experience with popular accounting software like Tally is required, while familiarity with ERP systems like SAP is a plus.

* In-depth knowledge of Ind AS and regulatory compliance in India.

Soft skills

* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

* High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

* Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹45, ₹50,000.00 per month
