Job Title: Site Engineer - (Operation and Maintenance) Solar Plant

Purpose of the Position:

To ensure efficient and effective operation & maintenance of the solar power plant in alignment with contractual obligations and performance benchmarks. The role focuses on maximizing plant uptime, meeting key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational:

  1. Monitor and analyze plant performance continuously to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  2. Ensure timely and effective preventive and corrective maintenance.
  3. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for all faults and take corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  4. Daily monitoring of equipment performance via SCADA and take corrective actions to maintain optimal output.
  5. Monitor WMS sensors and operational parameters, ensuring accurate data logging and analysis.
  6. Supervise and control module cleaning activities to maintain performance levels.
  7. Support substation and switchyard maintenance activities.
  8. Ensure plant availability and respond promptly during breakdowns or scheduled maintenance.

Reporting & Documentation:

  1. Maintain detailed records of events, breakdowns, RCA, and preventive maintenance activities.
  2. Prepare Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Half-Yearly, and Yearly reports as required by clients and internal teams.

Client & Stakeholder Management:

  1. Maintain regular communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
  2. Follow instructions from clients and senior management regarding plant operations.

Team & Safety Management:

  1. Guide team members in the absence of the Plant Head to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  2. Promote safety culture and ensure adherence to HSE guidelines at site.
  3. Conduct in-house training for staff on safety, plant operations, first aid, firefighting, and mock drills.
  4. Ensure safe and secure operation across all site activities.
  5. Assist the Site IN charge in managing local agencies and regulatory compliance.

Required Skills & Competencies:

Technical / Functional:

  • Strong hands-on experience in O&M of solar power plants (including hybrid systems and battery-based systems preferred).
  • Good understanding of SCADA systems, data analytics, and solar plant performance parameters.
  • Knowledge of switchyard, substation, and electrical equipment maintenance.

Behavioral:

  • Good verbal and written communication in English and local language.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Sound decision-making ability with ownership and accountability.
  • Resilient and capable of working in demanding site environments.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physically and mentally fit.
  • No impairments that affect work performance.
  • Willingness to stay on-site and work extended hours as needed.
  • Perseverance and tenacity to handle site challenges.
