Aerostructures Engineer
- Job Title: Aerostructures Engineer
 - No of Positions: 2
 - Department: Engineering
 - Reports To: CTO
 - Job Summary: The Aerostructures Engineer will lead the preliminary structural

design of StratoShift, focusing on a robust airframe to support a 30 kg payload,
modular payload interface, and BVLOS durability. This full-time role involves
selecting materials, conducting load analysis, and integrating with aerodynamic and
avionics systems.
- Key Responsibilities:
 - Perform detailed structural analysis to ensure the airframe withstands flight

loads (e.g., upto 5g maneuvers) and payload weight.
- Select materials (e.g., carbon fiber, aluminum) and design a modular frame

for zero integration time payload swaps.
- Assess vibration and fatigue resistance for long-range (200 km) operations.
 - Collaborate with Aerodynamics and Avionics Engineers to align structural

design with performance, FCS, telemetry, BMS, ESC, HMS, DAA, Navigation,
Communication, PDS, ERS, payload management, and GCS requirements.
- Produce detailed CAD models and stress analysis reports for review.
 - Required Skills and Qualifications:
 - Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering,

Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in finite element analysis (FEA) tools (e.g., ANSYS,

Abaqus), structural optimization, and composite materials.
- Experience: 3–5 years in aircraft or UAS structural design, with proven

preliminary design experience.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with load path analysis, weight distribution, and

regulatory structural standards (e.g., FAA Part 23).
- Tools: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Fusion 360) and FEA tools.
 - Expectations:
 - Deliver a detailed airframe design within 2–3 months, including material

specifications, load capacity data, and modular interface plans.
- Commit 40 hours/week to accelerate structural design and integration.
 - Ensure the design supports modularity and aligns with propulsion, avionics,

and safety systems (e.g., DAA, ERS).
- Provide leadership in structural analysis, offering iterative feedback based on

team input.
