Drug Polymer Scientist

Role & responsibilities
- Develop and optimize polymer-based drug formulations for controlled, sustained, and targeted release.
- Conduct physicochemical characterization of polymers, including molecular weight determination, rheology, thermal analysis (DSC/TGA), and mechanical properties.
- Perform drug-polymer compatibility studies using analytical techniques such as FTIR, NMR, XRD, and UV-Vis spectroscopy.
- Utilize microscopy (SEM, TEM, AFM) and particle size analysis (DLS, laser diffraction) to assess polymer morphology and dispersion.
- Work on microencapsulation, nanoparticle formulations, hydrogels, and polymeric micelles for drug delivery.
- Conduct in vitro and in vivo drug release studies to evaluate release kinetics and bioavailability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in preclinical, regulatory, and manufacturing to ensure scalability and compliance with GMP, FDA, ICH, and ISO standards.
- Support patent filings and scientific publications related to polymer-based drug delivery technologies.
- Document research findings and contribute to regulatory submissions (IND, NDA, 510(k)) as required.
Preferred candidate profile
- Ph.D. in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in drug-polymer formulations, biomaterials, or drug delivery R&D (industry experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of polymer synthesis, modification, and degradation mechanisms
