Key Responsibilities
Reliability & Equipment Performance
- Drive reliability improvement for critical assets such as cold rolling mills, annealing furnaces, Casters, coilers, drives, hydraulics, and cooling systems pump house& other critical rotating equipments
- Monitor and analyse equipment performance using KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, OEE, availability, downtime trends).
- Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for chronic and high-impact equipment failures.
- Establish and manage critical asset lists and failure mode databases.
- Scheduling preventive & predictive maintenance of all equipment's including utilities.
Maintenance Strategy & Predictive Technologies
- Develop, implement, and optimize Preventive and Predictive Maintenance (PM/Pd.M.) programs for rotating and high-speed equipment.
Apply and maintain condition monitoring techniques including:
Vibration analysis for mill drives, gearboxes, and bearings.
- Oil analysis for hydraulic and lubrication systems.
- Infrared thermography for furnaces, electrical panels, and refractory monitoring.
Ultrasonic inspection for compressed air, cooling water, & all pressure vessels.
Support the shift from reactive to proactive maintenance culture.
Continuous Improvement & Engineering Support
- Support plant initiatives such as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.
- Collaborate with production, process, and maintenance teams to resolve chronic bottlenecks in rolling operations.
- Recommend design modifications and upgrades to improve equipment life and process reliability.
- Participate in capital projects to ensure new equipment meets reliability standards.
Training & Knowledge Sharing
- Mentor maintenance and operations teams on reliability practices, RCFA, and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Develop standard work practices and reliability guidelines for critical assets.
- Provide technical support during major breakdowns and planned shutdowns.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, or Reliability Engineering (or equivalent).
- 4–8 years of reliability or maintenance engineering experience in continuous process industries (aluminium rolling, steel,)
- Proven knowledge of heavy rotating equipment, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and high-temperature process equipment.
- Proficiency in CMMS/EAM systems (e.g., ERP maintenance module).
- Hands-on experience with predictive technologies (vibration, oil analysis, thermography).
- Familiarity with RCM, FMEA, and Six Sigma/Lean tools.
