Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role based in Chennai, India, for a Marine Superintendent. The Marine Superintendent will oversee ship operations, ensuring compliance with safety, security, and environmental standards. Responsibilities include monitoring vessel performance, conducting inspections, and guiding the crew on operational standards. The role involves coordinating with ship captains, addressing audit findings, ensuring preparedness for vetting inspections, and providing technical support for efficient and safe operations. Regular reporting to management is also required to maintain optimal performance and adherence to organizational policies.
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of Marine Operations and Vessel Operations to ensure effective fleet management and safety.
- Proven expertise in Ship Management and a solid understanding of industry regulatory compliance.
- Strong Supervisory Skills to manage and support staff onboard vessels and at shore, ensuring smooth operations.
- Experience in managing Vetting processes and compliance with shipping industry standards.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and managerial abilities.
- Previous experience as a Marine Engineer, Captain, or similar role is an advantage.
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies or equivalent professional qualifications in the marine industry.
- Proficiency in report generation and familiarity with advanced fleet management software is desirable.
