Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct nutritional assessment for in-patients and out-patients: review medical history, labs, dietary habits and lifestyle.
  • Develop personalized diet plans and therapeutic nutrition interventions according to patient condition (e.g., diabetes, cardiac, renal, oncology, paediatric, geriatric) and hospital protocols.
  • Provide nutrition counselling to patients and caregivers explain diet plans, behaviour change, food choices and lifestyle modifications.
  • Perform ward rounds (for admitted patients) to monitor nutritional status, ensure compliance with modified diets, and liaise with medical teams.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen / food service team on menu planning, therapeutic diets, special diet feedings and safe food storage/supply.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of diet charts, patient progress, follow-up records, referrals and nutrition education activities.
  • Keep up-to-date with current research, guidelines in nutrition & dietetics and apply them into clinical practice.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings (with doctors, nursing, dietetic interns etc) to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Conduct group sessions, workshops or patient-education programs on nutrition, lifestyle and preventive health as required.
  • Uphold hospital & department standards (e.g., cleanliness, hygiene, food safety, patient confidentiality) and support accreditation processes (e.g., NABH, JCI) as applicable.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition & Dietetics / Food Science & Nutrition / Home Science with specialization in Nutrition (minimum).
  • Master's (M.Sc) in Nutrition & Dietetics / Clinical Nutrition / Food & Nutrition is preferable.
  • Experience: Ideally 1-3 years (for junior role) in hospital / clinical setting; more for senior role.
  • Strong counselling skills, ability to work cross-functionally in hospital environment.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets, medical nutrition therapy, and hospital food service operations.
  • Good communication (English + local language), documentation skills, ability to adapt to hospital processes & workflows.
  • Preferably registered/licensed dietician (if applicable in region) or willing to obtain.
