Role & responsibilities

1. Portfolio Monitoring & Early Warning Signal Detection:

  • Conduct regular field and branch visits to interact with MSME clients and branch officers.
  • Monitor health of the MSME portfolio (both secured and unsecured) by reviewing account performance, repayment behavior, and market conditions.
  • Identify early warning signals (EWS) such as delayed payments, declining business activity, negative industry trends, or customer grievances.
  • Liaise with Credit, Collections, and Risk teams to report and act on identified EWS.

2. Customer Engagement & Risk Mitigation:

  • Meet MSME borrowers to assess business conditions, financial health, and customer sentiment.
  • Recommend pre-emptive corrective measures including restructuring, top-up loans, or risk reclassification.
  • Support recovery and collections team in follow-ups with stressed or overdue accounts.

3. Product Oversight & Development:

  • Monitor performance of existing MSME products (secured and unsecured loans), including volume, yield, delinquencies, and customer satisfaction.
  • Work with Product and Marketing teams to enhance or develop new products that align with market needs and internal risk appetite.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies in all product offerings.

4. Branch Engagement & Capacity Building:

  • Train branch staff on EWS identification, MSME product features, and customer servicing protocols.
  • Review branch-level performance metrics related to MSME portfolio (disbursements, NPA levels, collections efficiency).
  • Provide support in resolving operational or process bottlenecks at the branch level.
