Job Purpose: The Electrical Engineer supervises the installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems in hydrogen production plants, including power distribution networks, switchgear, and transformers. The role configures and tests protection systems, monitors power quality, and diagnoses faults to ensure system reliability and compliance with safety standards. By analyzing energy consumption data, implementing optimization strategies, and collaborating with process teams, the Electrical Engineer enhances operational efficiency and reduces costs. The role also prepares technical documentation, coordinates with vendors, and supports commissioning activities to ensure the seamless integration and performance of electrical systems. Staying updated on advancements in electrical engineering, the Electrical Engineer contributes to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.

Electrical System Installation:

Supervise the installation of electrical systems, including power distribution networks, switchgear, and transformers.

Inspect cable routing, terminations, and panel installations to ensure compliance with design specifications.

Conduct pre-commissioning checks and functional tests for electrical equipment.

System Protection and Coordination:

Configure and test protection relays for fault detection and isolation.

Perform coordination studies to ensure proper relay settings across the electrical network.

Test and validate overcurrent, earth fault, and differential protection systems.

Power Quality and Harmonics Management:

Analyze power quality issues, including voltage sags, harmonics, and transients.

Recommend solutions such as harmonic filters and power factor correction units.

Monitor and optimize power quality to improve equipment performance and lifespan.

System Troubleshooting:

Diagnose faults in electrical systems, including circuit breaker failures and cable faults.

Use advanced diagnostic tools, such as thermal imaging and insulation testers, to identify issues.

Provide technical support for restoring systems to operational status.

Energy Monitoring:

Implement energy metering solutions to track consumption patterns across the plant.

Analyze energy usage data to identify inefficiencies and propose cost-saving measures.

Collaborate with process teams to synchronize energy supply with production demands.

Safety and Compliance:

Conduct regular inspections to ensure electrical systems comply with safety standards and regulations.

Participate in safety audits and implement corrective actions for identified gaps.

Maintain and test grounding systems to ensure personnel and equipment safety.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of electrical drawings, test reports, and maintenance logs.

Prepare detailed reports on equipment performance and inspection findings.

Update documentation to reflect modifications or upgrades to electrical systems.

Vendor Coordination:

Coordinate with vendors for equipment delivery, installation, and commissioning support.

Review vendor documentation and ensure equipment meets project specifications.

Monitor vendor performance during FAT and SAT activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate with process and control engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.

Provide inputs during design reviews to address electrical interface requirements.

Support operations teams in troubleshooting electrical issues during production.

Continuous Learning:

Stay updated on advancements in electrical engineering, including smart systems and renewable integration.

Participate in workshops and training programs to enhance technical knowledge.

Share knowledge and best practices with team members to foster continuous improvement.

Education Qualification:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Additional certifications in power systems or renewable energy technologies are preferred.

Work Experience:

3+ years of experience in electrical systems design and maintenance, preferably in renewable energy or manufacturing industries.

Industry Knowledge:

Good understanding of electrical equipment, grid compliance, and safety standards for green hydrogen production. Proficiency in tools for electrical system modeling and fault analysis is desirable.
