Role & responsibilities

  1. Indent Handling:

  2. Receive indents / RFQs from the planning team for cutting tools including inserts, boring bars, solid carbide tools, drills, taps, etc.

  3. RFQ Process:

  4. Float RFQs to multiple approved or potential suppliers.

  5. Collect and analyze quotations.

  6. Commercial Evaluation:

  7. Prepare price comparisons and conduct commercial negotiations with suppliers to ensure best value.

  8. PO Processing:

  9. Place purchase orders in SAP with L1 (lowest landed cost) suppliers.

  10. Coordinate with finance and stores for PO execution and GRN.

  11. Delivery Management:

  12. Ensure timely receipt of materials to support production schedules.

  13. Follow up with suppliers for on-time deliveries and resolve supply issues.

  14. Supplier Development:

  15. Explore and develop new cost-effective and quality suppliers.

  16. Support vendor onboarding and qualification processes.

  17. Import Procurement:

  18. Handle import-related documentation and processes for sourcing specialized cutting tools from global suppliers.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Strong knowledge of cutting tools, Consumables such as turning & milling inserts, boring bars, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Familiarity with the procurement process of indirect materials.
  • Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in SAP and MS Excel.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills.
  • Strong follow-up and stakeholder management capabilities.
