1. Reading and Interpreting Documentation: Ability to accurately read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, Bill of Materials (BOMs), wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions

2. Knowledge of Standards: Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies) is essential for ensuring compliance.

3. Measurement and Testing Equipment: Proficiency in using various inspection and testing tools, including:

4. Calipers and micrometers for dimensional checks.

5. Multimeters/ohmmeters for basic electrical continuity and resistance testing.
6. Automated Cable Test (ACT) equipment for complex harness testing.

7. Go/No-go gauges and pull testers.

8. Visual Inspection Expertise: High-level ability to visually inspect for defects such as:

9. Correct crimp formation and terminal insertion.

10. Proper wire stripping, tinning, and soldering.
11. Correct routing, bundling, and tying/lacing of wires.
12. Proper installation of connectors, heat shrink, and shielding.

13. Identification of damaged insulation, misplaced components, or foreign object debris (FOD).
