Role Summary:

The Master Data Management (MDM) Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's master data management program. This role ensures the quality, consistency, and governance of critical business data across the enterprise. The MDM Specialist collaborates with business stakeholders to define data requirements, develop/upgrade policies and standards, and oversee data stewardship activities. He will also be responsible to oversee the operations of outsourced support team in MDM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the enterprise MDM strategy, roadmap, and implementation plan.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and processes for master data.
  • Implement and maintain the MDM technology platform, including data integration, cleansing, matching, and synchronization.
  • Analyze current data quality issues and implement remediation plans to improve data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Train and enable data stewards in business units to manage and maintain master data.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on master data and provide guidance to data consumers.
  • Collaborate with ERP/ IT, business, and data teams to identify opportunities for master data optimization.
  • Monitor and report on key MDM metrics and KPIs to demonstrate business value.
  • Stay up to date on MDM industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Oversee & maintain Master data management (MDM) activities and processes for vendors, customers, and finance data.
  • Periodic review of MDM activities performed by outsourced agency/ support.
  • Management of all internal, statutory MDM audits with proper Audit trail and implementation of Audit recommendations.
  • Review and approve changes to data models, processes, or hierarchies.
  • Create reports and dashboards to track data quality metrics and report on MDM effectiveness to senior leadership.

Educational Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • Preference for Certified Master Data Management Professional (CDMP) or similar certification.
  • 5-10 years of experience in master data management, data governance, or data quality in ERP system (SAP S/4/HANA).
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data integration, and data management concepts.
  • Proficient in MDM technologies, tools, and platforms with cloud-based MDM solutions (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security regulations.
