Job Description: The Production Technician is responsible for the assembly, integration, testing of electrical and electronic systems in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This role demands a high level of technical proficiency, attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety standards.

Responsibility

  • Electrical System Integration: Execute precise installation and routing of electrical harnesses for avionics, propulsion control, payload interfaces, and onboard power systems.
  • PCB Assembly and Diagnostics: Assemble, inspect, and validate PCBs used for various UAV systems. Perform rework and functional testing of PCBs.
  • Navigation Sensor and Payload Installation: Integrate and calibrate electrical interfaces for UAV sensors and mission-critical payloads including EO/IR, SAR, GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System), INS (Inertial Navigation system), ADU (Air Data Unit) and data link modules.
  • Ground Systems Integration (GDT, GCS, ADT): Configure and maintain electrical connectivity for Ground Data Terminals (GDT), Ground Control Stations (GCS), and Airborne Data Terminal (ADT) systems supporting telemetry, command uplink and real-time video downlink operations.
  • System-Level Troubleshooting: Conduct fault isolation and diagnostics on electrical subsystems using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and automated test equipment.
  • Flight Readiness and Ground Testing Support: Assist in pre-flight electrical validation and ground control system setup.
  • Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: Work closely with engineers, quality inspectors, and fellow technicians to resolve issues and improve processes. Participate in root cause analysis and contribute to corrective actions.

Skill Set Requirement

  • Experienced UAV Technician: Skilled UAV Electrical and Electronics Technician with hands-on experience in the assembly and integration of electrical and electronic components onboard Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV).
  • Wiring Harness Fabrication and Installation: Proficient in fabricating and installing aerospace-grade wiring harnesses. Skilled in routing and securing cables on UAV structure.
  • PCB Integration and Component Handling: Experienced in integrating and mounting PCBs into UAV systems, ensuring proper mechanical fit and electrical connectivity. Knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards for PCB assembly and inspection.
  • Electrical Testing and Diagnostics: Skilled in using tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, LCR meters, and continuity testers to verify circuit integrity and diagnose faults.
  • Repair and Rework of Electrical Systems: Capable of identifying and repairing damaged wires, connectors, and PCB components. Proficient in desoldering, re-soldering, and connector re-termination.
  • Tool Proficiency and Safety Compliance: Hands-on experience with crimping tools, wire strippers, heat guns, torque tools, electronic test equipment.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Ability to fill work completion logs accurately and clearly. Understands the importance of documentation, traceability and compliance in UAV electrical systems.
