Job Description:
A Deputy Manager, Software Automation job description involves leading and executing automation strategies, overseeing test frameworks, and managing a team to ensure high-quality software delivery. Responsibilities include developing automation for UI and API testing, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role requires a Bachelor's degree, strong technical skills in programming (like Java, Python, JavaScript), and experience with automation tools (like Selenium, REST Assured, Cypress), cloud services (AWS, Azure), and project management methodologies. 
 
Key responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Lead and mentor a team of automation engineers, manage project timelines, and coordinate with other departments.
  • Strategy and Framework Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for both UI and API testing.
  • Technical Execution:
    • Develop and execute automated tests using tools like Selenium, REST Assured, or Cypress.
    • Work with BDD frameworks like Cucumber.
    • Automate processes within CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub Actions.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Act as a liaison between development, QA, and other stakeholders, and provide clear communication on project status and issues.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Ensure the implementation of best practices for coding, testing, and deployment.
    • Troubleshoot complex issues and provide technical guidance.
    • Stay updated on new technologies and industry trends. 
 
Required qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5–8 years of hands-on experience in software automation testing.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
    • Experience with automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, REST Assured, Cypress).
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
    • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab).
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
