Job Description:
A Medical Transcriptionist listens to audio recordings made by healthcare professionals (e.g., doctors, nurses) and converts them into written medical documents. These may include patient histories, discharge summaries, operative reports, consultation notes, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Listen to and accurately transcribe audio recordings from healthcare providers.
- Edit and proofread transcriptions for grammar, spelling, and medical terminology.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy in patient records.
- Identify and clarify any inconsistencies or errors in dictation.
- Enter transcriptions into the hospitals Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with hospital and HIPAA guidelines.
- Keep up to date with medical terminology, drugs, and procedures.
