Lead Design Engineer

As a member of the Engineering team (one of the divisions in SEDIN), you will be responsible for the Product design and development  applications. You will be working with other engineers and developers on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and creating quality products is essential.

 Where you'll do it: This role is hybrid (based out of Chennai & Bangalore, India)

 An initial screening of the resume leads to a 4-stage interview process lasting at least a week:  15-minute HR chat  30-minute Technical Round (sometimes paired with a short take-home exercise )30-minute call with the Operations Head to discuss the position & fit  1 -hour final interview with the CEO/CFO to assess a culture fit

 Reporting to: Alex, Head of Engineering services.

What You'll do?

●      You will translate functional requirements into technical requirements

●      You wil design and build high-performance, reusable, and reliable Apex code with best practices

●      You will be responsible for providing hands on expert level guidance to junior developers for technical issues

●      You will  ensure the best possible quality of the application.

●      You will  take ownership of project work and developing client relationships

●      You will  Identify bugs and align with requirements during debugging

●      You will Explore new updates from every release and critical updates in project applications.

●      You will Perform code reviews and ensure the quality of the deliverables.

●      You will Perform POC on new concepts.

What You will bring?

●      You have good Communication & client facing skills

●      You have minimum 3 years of experience for Tekla Modeller Profile [Certificate will be validated]

●      You have minimum 2 years of experience for 3D modeling [Certificate will be validated]

●      You have worked on multiple Client facing projects

●      You have good experience in SolidWorks.

●      You are Flexible to work remotely and if required from the office [Chennai/Bangalore] based on the project needs.

Technical Skills Required:

•  Candidates with overall experience in working with the structural steel Industry are preferred. The experience must be using Tekla Steel Detailing or Advance Steel software.
•  Should have good experience on working with steel detailing, Custom connections & its applications.
•  Should have experience in checking Client's drawings, the geometry of structures, Model Management, and Revision Controls.
•  Knowledge of Preparing detailed Drawings, Erection Drawings, GA Drawings and achieving delivery schedules.
•  Must be able to handle projects independently.
•  Must be self-motivated to manage, coordinate and facilitate multiple tasks.
•  Should be able to execute detailing projects and be able to study structural drawings
•  Modelling with respect to structural drawings & architectural drawings.
•  Preparation of custom components.
•  Check the connection possibilities and feasibility as per the standards and connection applications.
•  Should be responsible for the project along with the team leader.
•  Complete the projects within the target date keeping in mind the quality.
•  Should have hands-on experience in working with Secondary steel detailing, Custom connection applications, Connections & marking plans.
•  Should have experience in Client drawings, geometry of structures, Model Management, Revision Controls and other trades.
•  Hands-on experience in Preparing Drawings, Editing, GA Creation, TQ / RFI Preparation and managing delivery schedules.
•  Must be able to handle projects independently if required.
•  Must have knowledge of Template Creation and template editing.
•  Knowledge of the shop and erection process will be additional.
•  Maintain a current working knowledge/understanding of the latest version of the AS-NZS/ANSI/BS/EN & OSHA standards & code related to connection design, detailing practices, general steel properties and
• safety measurements.
•  Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects
•  Strong communication skills to collaborate with engineers and architects

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Candidates should have good communication skills.
• Education - Diploma or BE in Civil/Mechanical Engineering
• 8+ years of experience in steel structure Detailing/Modelling/checker in Tekla Structures/Advance Steel
• with Standards AS/NZ/US/UK
• Candidates with overall experience in working with the structural steel Industry are preferred
