Position Overview:
The Chief Engineer at Montrose Golf Resort & Spa, Coorg is responsible for overseeing the complete engineering and maintenance operations of the resort, including guest accommodations, public areas, golf course infrastructure, spa facilities, water bodies, and utility systems. The role ensures that all areas of the property function efficiently, safely, and in harmony with the resort's luxury standards and eco-sustainable philosophy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Property & Facilities Maintenance
- Supervise all preventive and corrective maintenance across villas, public spaces, restaurants, spa, golf course facilities, swimming pools, and staff areas.
- Ensure uninterrupted functioning of all major systems — HVAC, electrical, plumbing, STP/RO plants, energy systems, water supply, and fire safety.
- Maintain the resort's high environmental standards by monitoring energy efficiency, waste management, and sustainability programs.
- Ensure the upkeep of landscape irrigation, lighting systems, and golf course maintenance support equipment.
2. Leadership & Team Management
- Lead a team of technicians, electricians, plumbers, and maintenance personnel with hands-on supervision.
- Assign daily tasks, monitor work quality, and ensure all maintenance requests are completed promptly.
- Conduct regular training on safety, preventive maintenance, and eco-friendly practices.
3. Safety, Compliance & Standards
- Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations — electrical, fire, boiler, pollution control.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of fire safety, emergency lighting, and life safety systems.
- Maintain all licenses, certifications, and documentation as required by local authorities.
4. Project & Asset Management
- Plan and execute all engineering-related projects, including renovations, new installations, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Prepare CAPEX and OPEX budgets, control engineering costs, and manage vendor contracts efficiently.
- Maintain an updated inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables.
5. Guest Experience & Coordination
- Coordinate with Front Office and Housekeeping to ensure prompt resolution of guest room and public area maintenance issues.
- Support Food & Beverage and Spa operations by maintaining critical equipment in top condition.
- Uphold Montrose's reputation for luxury and comfort through impeccable maintenance standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma , Hotel experience is mandatory.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in hospitality engineering, preferably in luxury resorts or large properties.
- Strong technical knowledge of energy management, water treatment systems, HVAC, and sustainability operations.
- Proven experience in managing engineering teams and handling multi-department coordination.
- Excellent planning, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Hands-on approach with a focus on preventive maintenance and guest satisfaction.
Work Environment:
- Based at Montrose Golf Resort & Spa, Coorg.
- Requires flexibility for emergency calls, weekends, and shift-based supervision.
- The role demands both administrative expertise and on-ground operational leadership to maintain a 5-star resort experience.
Food and Accommodation providing by Company
