Senior Platform Engineer

Purpose of the role

To build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure. 

Accountabilities

• Build and maintenance of data architectures pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
• Design and implementation of data warehoused and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures.
• Development of processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes.
• Collaboration with data scientist to build and deploy machine learning models.

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

• Graduate/Post Graduate degree with a technology specialisation
• Has a passion for technology and improving technology services
• Self-driven, proactive with strong problem solving abilities
• Good communication skills
• Confident and assertive in nature

Mandatory Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge and hands on experience on AWS Platform engineering & development
• Strong knowledge of AWS services & components like:
• Lambda, Glue, EC2, EKS, S3, Athena, IAM roles, Lakeformation, Cloudformation, VPC, NACL, Security groups, Cloud Watch, Service Catalog, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift etc.
• Strong infrastructure knowledge with a good experience of Kubernetes fundamentals
• Experience in automation & configuration management using Chef cookbooks
• Working knowledge on different file formats like JSON, Iceberg & Parquet
• Proven ability to design and develop enterprise level software solutions using DevOps tools and techniques
• Experience and working knowledge of Jenkins, Gitlab & GitOps etc.
• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix OS and concepts
• Experience in any one scripting language. Python or Shell desirable

Desirable skills:

• Experience of working in Agile model with global team.
• Databricks / Snowflake / Starburst knowledge.
• SQL & Stored procedures
• Build the AWS environment through automated scripts using Cloudformation
