Role:  Lead: Game Designer

Location: Bangalore | Work Mode: In Office

Role Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and creative Senior/Lead Game Designer to drive the development of engaging and immersive gaming experiences. You will be responsible for designing and refining game mechanics, player progression, and monetization strategies while ensuring a compelling user experience. As a key leader, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, mentor junior designers, and leverage data to optimize gameplay. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Game Development: For both existing and New Games: Own and oversee game features/mechanics from concept to live operations, ensuring alignment with business goals related to player retention, engagement, monetization, and growth. 
• Gameplay Balancing & Iteration: Analyze existing features based on player feedback and in-game behavior metrics, iterating on mechanics to enhance the user experience.
• Game Design leadership: 
• Define and drive the creative vision, mechanics, and player experience for both Existing and New Games.
• Lead and mentor a team of designers, providing guidance, feedback, and career development support.
• Work closely with Product, artists, programmers, and producers to ensure seamless integration of design elements and creation of Quarterly roadmap for both Existing and New Games. 
• Foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and problem-solving within the team.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, product managers, artists, and other designers to create a cohesive and compelling gaming experience.
• Player-Centric Design: Use data-driven insights and behavioral analysis to refine features that enhance gameplay, improve user experience, and drive engagement.
• Design Documentation: 
• Create, maintain, and update game guides, design documents, wireframes, flow diagrams, and player journey maps for clarity and consistency.
• Clearly communicate design concepts to stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Present game design updates and progress to senior leadership.
• UI/UX Integration: Collaborate with artists to develop UI/UX designs and art assets, ensuring a seamless and visually appealing player experience.
• Industry & Market Research: Stay up to date with competitor trends, emerging gaming technologies, and industry developments to inform design strategies.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in game design, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role
• Strong understanding of game mechanics, player psychology, and level design principles.
• Experience in designing, balancing, and maintaining game systems, with a focus on casual, puzzle, match-3, and word game genres.
• Ability to create clear and effective wireframes, flow diagrams, and game mechanics documentation.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for data-driven design improvements.
• Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership over projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating design concepts and collaborating across diverse teams.
• A solid portfolio of game design documents, prototypes, and previous project contributions.
• Strong understanding of player incentives, engagement loops, and market trends in casual, puzzle, and merging game audiences.

Preferred Qualification:

• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma to create UI flows and interactive prototypes.
• Knowledge of UI/UX design principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with artists.
• Ability to interpret game metrics and player behavior data to inform game design decisions.
• Experience working with Live Ops and designing features that enhance long-term player engagement and monetization.
