About The Opportunity
A technology services organisation in the IT & Cloud Software sector building scalable, data-intensive backend platforms and real-time analytics pipelines on AWS. We are hiring an on-site Scala Developer in India to own backend services and streaming solutions that deliver low-latency, high-throughput business capabilities for enterprise customers.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design and implement production-grade backend microservices using Scala and functional programming patterns to deliver reliable APIs and business logic.
  • Develop and optimise batch and streaming data pipelines leveraging Apache Spark and Apache Kafka for real-time processing and analytics.
  • Build cloud-native applications and deploy services on AWS, collaborating on infrastructure-as-code, security, and cost optimisation.
  • Write automated tests, maintain CI/CD pipelines, perform code reviews, and enforce engineering best practices for performance and observability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Data Engineering, and SRE teams to define SLAs, design APIs, and instrument telemetry (metrics, logging, tracing).
  • Troubleshoot production incidents, perform application profiling, and implement performance improvements and capacity planning.
