Full-Stack AI Software Engineer

At 360Watts, we're reimagining how home consumers generate, use, and control energy.

We're building a modular rooftop solar system powered by intelligent automation and an integrated HEMS (Home Energy Management System) platform. Our users will get real-time energy transparency, proactive maintenance alerts, and an evolving interface where AI and automation work quietly in the background to reduce costs, maximize solar use, and create true energy independence.

We're not just digitising solar — we're designing the brain and UI/UX of the intelligent home energy ecosystem.

YOUR ROLE

We're looking for a full-stack engineer with strong frontend and backend skills — someone who can build fast, think modularly, and is excited to work with energy data, IoT, and ML engineers. Here you will:

• Architect and lead the product development of HEMS platform, from edge-to-cloud backend and up to frontend dashboards
• Integrate end-to-end home energy systems (eg. inverter, battery, load devices) into a real-time data platform
• Collaborate with Solar and IoT engineers on automation use-cases for energy management and smart-home
• Collaborate with UI/UX intern on user-facing UIs for energy monitoring, control and alerts
• Collaborate with ML engineer intern on ML models and data architecture
• Build with a vision for AI-native automation of HEMS and Smart-home

This is a founding-level technical role with full ownership of the software development

integrating solar hardware & IoT system into an AI-enabled software product for the consumers.

>> Backend: HEMS Software Platform

• Backend services and APIs to collect, store, and process time-series energy data
• Device control logic for smart inverters, batteries, and load automation triggers
• AI-ready data architecture that supports forecasting, optimization, and anomaly detection

>> Frontend: UI & Visualisation Layer

• Build interactive dashboards for solar production, energy usage, battery performance, and user savings
• Develop AI insights surfaces (e.g. recommendations, fault predictions, optimised load schedules)
• Enable control panels for user-defined automations and system modes (peak saving, EV charging, etc.)
• Work closely with our UX team to deliver mobile-first, high-clarity UI components

>> Collaboration with IoT engineer

• Ensure reliable cloud edge synchronisation using MQTT, REST, and fail-safes
• Co-design telemetry flows, command triggers, OTA update pipelines

>> Collaboration with ML engineer

• Build feature pipelines, feedback loops, historical analysis, and inference APIs
• Design decision orchestration layers for rule-based and model-driven control
• Build plugin-ready interfaces for ML model deployment (forecasting, classification, optimisation)
• Integrate observability tools and feedback logging to support continuous learning and AI-first system evolution

• Digitise system behaviour, telemetry mapping, inverter/battery interoperability

>> Collaboration with Product designer

• Translate backend intelligence into actionable and meaningful user experiences
• Co-sketch ideas for interactive AI-first UI/UX evolution

WHO YOU MUST BE

• Full-Stack Engineer — You're confident switching between APIs, databases, and UI layers
• Data-Driven Thinker — You understand how to work with time-series data and event streams
• AI-Ready Mindset — You are not a traditional developer, but know how to build intelligent systems
• Startup Explorer — You are fast and value clean coding
• Product Intuition — You care about how people experience energy, and build with users in mind

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES

• 2+ years experience in full-stack product development (SaaS, IoT, or AI-product)
• Proficiency in , , and responsive UI development (mobile-first mindset)
• Strong backend experience with Python (FastAPI), PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB
• for real-time workflows

• Experience with REST APIs, WebSockets, MQTT, and real-time data sync
• Hands-on with cloud deployment (GCP / AWS), Docker, and CI/CD workflows
• Familiarity with ML model integration (API-based model serving, feature pipelines)
• Experience in debugging and optimising across frontend-backend boundaries

JOB DETAILS

• Probation = 3 months
• Salary = 35k to 50k (further negotiable if you bring strong skillsets in AI/ML-integration from day one)
