Role Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified and innovative R&D Manager with a Ph.D. in Chemistry / Polymer Science / Material Science to lead the research and product development activities at our Pandesara Unit. The role will focus on developing new construction chemical products, improving existing formulations, and ensuring compliance with international standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the R&D team for development of construction chemicals (Admixtures, Waterproofing, Repair Mortars, Tile Adhesives, Sealants, Grouts, etc.).
  • Design and execute new product development (NPD) projects in line with market needs and company strategy.
  • Enhance existing product formulations for better performance, cost optimization, and sustainability.
  • Conduct laboratory testing, pilot trials, and scale-up activities for product validation and commercialization.
  • Stay updated with the latest global trends, technologies, and standards in construction chemicals.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality Control, Sales & Marketing teams for smooth product introduction and technical support.
  • Drive innovation through IPR, patents, and technical publications.
  • Ensure compliance with IS, ASTM, EN, BIS, and other regulatory standards.
  • Mentor and guide junior researchers to build a strong technical team.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry / Polymer Science / Material Science / Construction Materials (mandatory).
  • MSc. Chemistry Candidates can also apply
  • 8–12 years of R&D experience in construction chemicals industry (minimum 3–5 years in a managerial role).
  • Strong expertise in cement chemistry, admixtures, waterproofing, mortars, coatings, and related materials.
  • Hands-on experience in formulation development, lab testing, and pilot-to-plant scale-up.
  • Excellent knowledge of standards and certifications (IS, ASTM, EN, BIS, ISO).
  • Strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to foster innovation and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills (technical writing, cross-functional collaboration, and presentation).
