Job Summary: As a Category Manager, you will be instrumental in shaping our procurement strategy for all CAPEX subcategories including but not limited to Port equipment: Quay cranes, Rubber tyre gantry cranes, Reach stackers etc Infrastructure development: Civil, construction works IT systems, Fleet vehicles (trucks, utility vehicles) Other specialized engineering / technical services Renewable energy: Solar panels etc.Your responsibilities will include developing and executing category strategies, vendor management, cost optimization, risk assessment, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and realising synergies across company s operations at a PAN India level
Job Responsibilities:
  • Developing and executing category and sourcing strategies for CAPEX purchases including but not limited to Port equipment, Civil & construction, Information Technology, Engineering & renewable energy
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings within the category
  • Mapping, analysing and interpreting key internal data, supply market data and key industry trends at a regional level.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business objectives and operational requirements.
  • Lead sourcing initiatives, including RFPs, RFQs, and negotiations
  • Analyse supplier offers and quantify total costs (TCO) and total values (TVO) of ownership.
  • Preparing and executing supplier negotiations individually or in cooperation with your team members
  • Translating commercial content of deals to contracts
  • Supporting resolution of contractual deviations during execution of contracts
  • Developing and managing supplier relationships; including supplier performance management: KPIs SLA measurement etc
  • Actively participating in improvement of procurement processes and governance
  • Support implementation of digital solutions to drive efficiencies where possible and relevant: Automation, Robotics, e-auctions etc.
You will have significant responsibility from the start and be expected to execute and deliver on time and in line with our Procurement policy, targets and business needs. We expect you to drive proper procurement compliance, ensuring strong governance by promoting process adherence
Job. Requirements:
Ideally you have 8-10 years of work experience in procurement positions having worked with Category Management, Sourcing, Project Management, and/or Contract Management preferably exposed to the Ports, shipping & logistics Industry.
You are a person who:
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in procurement, with a specific focus on CAPEX categories.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale capital projects, including infrastructure development, renewable energy installations, and major equipment procurement.
  • Proven track record in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management for CAPEX projects
  • Naturally engages stakeholders and actively manages expectations and you dare to challenge previous beliefs and traditions.
  • Have the analytical ability to identify issues and a curious mindset to find ways to fix them.
  • Persistently drives the business optimization agenda with your stakeholders.
  • Are you a skilled negotiator with experience from an international organization.
  • Has a strong experience from a category/contract management position, working in an international company.
  • Hold the ability to bring several projects to successful conclusion at the same time, ensuring contracts are fit for purpose.
  • Can work independently having a personal drive and a strategic mind-set.
  • Possess business acumen with very strong English skills.
