Arcadis is looking to hire a full-time Solution Architect to join the Global Technology Office (GTO). The Solution Architect would work with the Oracle and Enterprise Apps (OEA) tower to craft scalable, high quality, secure, and reliable solutions to current and emerging business problems, whilst advocating sound architecture and design principles. The OEA tower operates under the Technology office to deliver key project initiatives that serve the bespoke needs of the Enabling Functions at Arcadis. This full-time role would report to the Global Technology Officer and the Enterprise Architect.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and propose technical solutions, architectures, and designs for key project initiatives in the Oracle & Enterprise Apps tower.
• Provide technical leadership to delivery teams and be the trusted partner for the business.
• Outline the architecture principles, standards, and guardrails for all software solutions emerging from the Tower.
• Elicit the functional and non-functional requirements from business teams and guide them on the appropriate tradeoffs among different implementation choices.
• Guide decisions on build vs. buy vs. reuse, potentially also leveraging low code-based solutions.
• Present key architecture, technical, and design decisions to the Architecture Review Board, and build consensus with other solution architects in the community.
• Provide ongoing governance over the solution architecture, ensuring it remains fit for purpose, can be operated at low cost, and can easily accommodate change over time.
• Support and complete internal audits; enable teams to prioritize and address the findings and observations.
• Mentor and guide team leads and other team members.
• Contribute to hiring initiatives within the Technology office.

Key Requirements

• Experience of developing and sustaining enterprise applications in several programming languages (e.g., Python, C#, JavaScript).
• Expert understanding of Agile software delivery, design patterns, architecture styles, and domain-driven design.
• Experienced in building robust, scalable, cloud-native solutions using Oracle and Azure public clouds that need to integrate with core enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, operational data stores) and third-party systems.
• Experienced in digitalizing and automating core business processes to improve their overall efficiency, elevate the end-user experience, and lower turnaround times.
• Experienced in providing business insights and serving the analytical needs of downstream consumers within the organization.
• Experience in advocating the right design principles, explaining the tradeoffs between implementation approaches, and articulating the implications behind key technology choices and architecture decisions.
• Familiarity and experience with the technology landscape: Oracle Fusion ERP, Oracle Sales Cloud, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle Integration Cloud, Azure, Terraform, Power Apps, Python, C#, JavaScript.
• Experienced with fulfilling the operational requirements of the applications, e.g., scalability, resilience, observability, health monitoring, ease of troubleshooting, compliance, etc.
• Strong skills in communication, problem solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
