We develop next-generation battery technologies at our state-of-the-art R&D Innovation Hubs in India and the UK.The Opportunity The Head of R&D Facilities in India will be instrumental in the establishment of an operating facility at our Headquarters in Bengaluru during 2025. Post-operational they will manage all aspects of the facility to ensure the operations are compliant with local, international and internal EHS rules and quality standards.

Under the guidance of the Head of R&D Facilities, with support from the R&D Leadership Team and working alongside other laboratory personnel, they will be responsible for ensuring equipment, services and utilities availability that will enable on-going scientific research projects in the Agratas laboratories in Bangaluru. This is a senior manager level position, and responsibilities will focus on the management of laboratory resources, oversight of laboratory quality standards and procedures, and planning for future projects as well as resolution of execution issued on a day-to-day basis whilst minimising process disturbance. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities Facility Establishment: Plans and implements.

Works with 3rd party vendors to build a successful project and deliver labs for Agratas Facility Operations: Understands the facility, can get hands on when needed, and also communicate clearly the status and plans for maintenance. Takes responsibility for equipment maintenance and uptime and coordinates scheduled maintenance with R&D managers. Compliance: Can lead and ensure the facility is set up and operating compliantly with all local rules, international standards and Agratas internal standards.

Keeps the facility operating to the same level of effectiveness as any other Agratas R&D facility. Understands safety in the context of battery materials with enough authority to lead a compliance manager. Steers and supports external quality audits for 9001, 14001 etc.

Best Practice: Maintains a network of consultants and experts to ensure facility legal compliance. Can act with authority with vendors and internal teams as a point of escalation from team members. Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Must have experience of delivering dry rooms and clean laboratory environments and associated fit outs and operation. Compliance and regulations knowledge and experience with COSHH/DSEAR/ATEX installations and associated HS&E procedures. Must exhibit a strong track record of completion and success in delivery of commissioning and projects.

Must understand ISO audit procedures and methods. Clear thinker, able to divide a job into small logical steps. Extensive experience in the use of procedures and workflows in the execution of projects.

Functional knowledge of all project discipline systems, design and reporting processes. Leadership skills Ability to lead people under pressure to ensure on time delivery Can see through the noise to get to what is important for decisions

Can demonstrate a record of leading people in R&D or operational environments Can converse with contractors and scientists to understand needs and enforce compliance Builds relationships across the company, with operational and support functions to ensure excellent communication resulting in successful project outcomes.
