Role & responsibilities

1. Raw Material Development:

• Develop and qualify raw material sources in alignment with relevant standards and Quality Assurance Plan (QAP).
• Contribute to sourcing raw materials for "Build to Spec" programs and custom project requirements.
• Identify, develop, and engage with suppliers to meet Aerospace and customer QAP specifications.
• Interpret and apply national and international material standards (e.g., ASTM, AMS), and ensure internal documentation reflects these requirements.
• Collaborate with suppliers to meet Material Take-Off (MTO), Purchase Order (PO), and QAP obligations.
• Participate in supplier audits and periodic visits to monitor manufacturing and quality control practices.
• Maintain a strong understanding of metallic raw material manufacturing, heat treatment processes, and test requirements such as tensile, hardness, grain size, inter granular corrosion, impact, and inclusion ratings.

2. Inspection of Raw Materials:

• Ensure quality assurance across the raw material manufacturing process and evaluate conformance with QAP and customer requirements.
• Review and approve MTOs, QA matrices, inspection plans, and technical documentation aligned with standards and specifications.
• Assess raw material test certificates and identify discrepancies related to QAPs, standards, and inspection plans.
• Conduct or coordinate testing in internal, supplier, or NABL-approved laboratories.
• Analyse material failures and propose corrective actions based on inspection findings.
• Liaise with purchase, test laboratories, customers, and inspection agencies to ensure smooth coordination and compliance.
• Drive QMS implementation and uphold compliance with internal and external quality systems.

3. Clearance & Regulatory Coordination:

• Coordinate the clearance of raw materials from customers and third-party inspection agencies.
• Prepare and maintain the necessary documentation required for material clearance and regulatory approvals.
• Participate in Local Salvage Committee (LSC), Quality Forum GQF, and CFT (Cross Functional

Teams) meetings to provide expert input on raw material-related issues and approvals.

4. Adherence to Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to systems and documentation as per AS9100, EMS, OHSAS & ISMS, EnMS and customer-specific requirements.
• Valuing the information received & effort spent in creating every piece of information. Ensuring the right information is accessed by right individuals. Ensuring Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of information.
• Responsible to control usage of energy sources for Environmental protection and Energy Security for sustainable growth.

5. Organisational Imperatives:

• Participate in improvement initiatives such as Kaizen, PMO, Cross functional projects and Business Excellence etc.
• To ensure Enterprise Risk Management for Key Processes, Subordinate and Team Development and Adherence to Compliance and Safe Working Environment

Technical / Functional Competencies Required:

1. Knowledge of Raw material standards and testing standards like AMS, ASTM etc.

2. Knowledge of mechanical and metallurgical testing as per ISO17025

3. Knowledge of manufacturing processes of Aerospace grade Raw materials preferred.

4. Knowledge of standards like AS9100, ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO50001, ISO27001, NADCAP

processes.

1. Knowledge and experience of Resistance welding process is preferred.
