Job summary

The Group Senior Accounts Manager will lead and manage all financial operations and reporting for a diversified group of companies spanning manufacturing (specifically electrical switchgear), construction, and trading. The ideal candidate will be a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for overseeing the entire accounting function, ensuring compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS), and providing critical financial insights to senior management.

Key responsibilities

Financial leadership and management

• Oversee the daily operations of the group's accounting departments, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Manage and mentor a team of finance and accounting professionals across all business units.
• Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial policies and procedures to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance.
• Act as a key financial advisor to senior leadership, providing strategic guidance on the group's financial performance and position.

Financial reporting and analysis

• Prepare and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements in compliance with IFRS and local regulatory requirements.
• Manage the group's annual budgeting and forecasting process, conducting variance analysis to identify and report on performance against budget.
• Analyse financial data and provide insightful reports on cash flow, working capital, profitability, and project costs to aid strategic decision-making.
• Ensure the timely preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and financial institutions.

Cash flow and liquidity management

• Monitor and manage the group's cash flow, and liquidity to maintain a strong financial position.
• Supervise the reconciliation of all bank accounts, supplier ledgers, and customer accounts.
• Manage accounts receivable and payable to optimize working capital and minimize bad debts.

Compliance and auditing

• Liaise with external auditors during financial audits and ensure a smooth and timely audit process.
• Stay updated on industry trends and changes in financial regulations, especially those relevant to construction, manufacturing, and trading sectors.
• Ensure all tax and regulatory filings are submitted accurately and on time.

ERP implementation and enhancement

• Define and optimize ERP system workflows, approval hierarchies, and the chart of accounts for group companies.
• Ensure the effective utilization of ERP software for accurate financial postings and reporting.

Education & Experience requirements

• Education: Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional qualification such as CPA or ACCA is highly preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting with UAE/GCC, with at least 3-5 years in a senior managerial role. Significant experience in a group structure involving manufacturing, construction, and trading is essential.
• Technical skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS and UAE/GCC financial regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling.
• Industry knowledge: Strong understanding of project-based accounting for the construction industry and cost accounting principles for Trading, manufacturing (electrical switchgear).
