Overview

The Academic Writer & Instructional Design Intern will play a central role in simplifying complex academic content into clear, structured, student-friendly notes. This individual will work closely with AI-generated drafts and subject material to create final academic content that aligns with learning outcomes, syllabus requirements, and instructional best practices.

The intern is expected to think like a teacher, write with clarity, and create academically rigorous material suitable for textbooks, worksheets, and digital learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities
1. Academic Content Simplification

  • Convert AI-generated content and source materials into clear, concise, and accurate learning notes.

  • Rewrite complex topics into simplified, student-friendly explanations.

  • Maintain conceptual accuracy across all subjects assigned.

2. Instructional Design

  • Apply instructional design frameworks such as Bloom's Taxonomy and scaffolding techniques.

  • Develop learning outcomes, chapter flow, and hierarchical content structures.

  • Prepare lesson plans, unit summaries, practice questions, and revision sheets.

  • Structure content for high readability and conceptual flow.

3. Collaboration and Content Pipeline

  • Work closely with the Visual Design Intern to convert content into textbook-ready pages.

  • Deliver content in a structured format compatible with design templates.

  • Participate in review cycles to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency.

  • Maintain adherence to the EDEPT Academic Style Guide.

4. AI-Assisted Content Development

  • Use AI tools for drafting, summarizing, restructuring, example generation, and formatting.

  • Edit AI outputs to align with syllabus, correctness, and academic clarity.

  • Ensure all AI-assisted content is fully reviewed and verified.

Required Skills
Core Writing and Instructional Skills

  • Strong academic writing skills with clarity, precision, and logical flow.

  • Ability to simplify topics from IT, Commerce, Business, or multidisciplinary subjects.

  • Understanding of instructional design fundamentals (Bloom's Taxonomy, learning objectives, scaffolding).

Additional Skills

  • Familiarity with Canva and PowerPoint (basic level).

  • Ability to follow structured templates and content guidelines.

  • Strong command of English grammar and academic language.

  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain content consistency across chapters.

Eligibility

  • Any Bachelor's degree (final-year students also eligible).

  • B.Ed or Instructional Design certification (preferred but not mandatory).

  • Experience in tutoring, teaching, content writing, or academic writing is an advantage.

  • Comfortable working across multiple subjects using AI assistance.

  • Excellent content organization and logical structuring skills.

  • Ability to deliver high-volume content with consistent quality.
