Role & responsibilities

  • Coordinate with overseas suppliers for material procurement.
  • Manage import logistics including sea and air shipments using appropriate Incoterms (CIF, CIP, Ex-Works, DAP, High Sea Sales).
  • Coordinate with Custom House Agents (CHA) for timely clearance and verification of import documentation and clearance bills.
  • Work closely with the QC, QA, and R&D/Tech Transfer teams for sample approvals, VQA processing, and plant audits.
  • Ensure only technically and quality-approved materials are ordered and supplied.
  • Support new product development by coordinating raw material sourcing for trials, scale-ups, and pilot batches.
  • Source, develop, evaluate, and maintain relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
  • Obtain quotations, negotiate pricing and commercial terms (including LC/BG/DA/DP/CAD), and prepare comparative cost analysis statements.
  • Finalize purchase orders in coordination with department heads and senior management.
  • Manage raw material procurement process from API sourcing to delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective supply chain management.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers through effective communication, negotiation, and contract management skills.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for cost savings, quality improvements, and process enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards throughout the purchasing process.
  • Analyze market trends, commodity prices, and supplier performance to optimize inventory levels and reduce costs.

Preferred candidate profile

Candidate from the Pharma experience shall be preferred.
