X-Ray Technician – Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic X-rays as per doctor's instructions.
  • Operate and maintain X-ray equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Prepare patients for radiological procedures with proper positioning and shielding.
  • Ensure adherence to radiation safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, films, and reports.
  • Assist radiologists/physicians in diagnostic procedures.
  • Ensure proper care, calibration, and maintenance of machines.

Requirements:

  • Diploma / Degree in Radiography / Medical Imaging Technology (DMIT/BSc MIT/X-Ray Technician course).
  • Valid certification in radiology / radiography.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of relevant work experience (freshers may also apply if qualified).
  • Good communication and patient-handling skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and handling of digital X-ray equipment preferred.
