About the Opportunity

We provide advanced multidisciplinary gastrointestinal and hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgical services, combining minimally invasive, endoscopic and complex oncologic procedures to deliver high-quality perioperative care and superior patient outcomes.

Primary Title: Gastrointestinal Surgeon

Role & Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive perioperative surgical care for adult GI patients—assess, plan, operate, and manage post-operative recovery for benign and malignant conditions.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures including upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy and ERCP as clinically indicated.
  • Execute open and minimally invasive (laparoscopic) GI and HPB surgeries, ensuring adherence to oncologic principles and patient safety protocols.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care with Gastroenterology, Oncology, Radiology, Anaesthesia and Critical Care teams; lead or participate in tumor boards and case reviews.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation, informed consent processes, and compliance with hospital policies and surgical quality indicators.
  • Contribute to clinical governance: mentor junior surgeons, support training programs, and participate in audits, morbidity & mortality reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy
  • Colonoscopy
  • Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
  • Laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgery
  • Oncologic colorectal surgery
  • Hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgery

Preferred

  • Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)
  • Advanced endoscopic mucosal resection / endoscopic submucosal dissection (EMR/ESD)
  • Robotic-assisted GI surgery
Professional Qualifications & Experience
  • MBBS with postgraduate surgical qualification (MS/MD) and M.Ch/DNB in Surgical Gastroenterology or equivalent higher surgical training.
  • Demonstrated track record of independent operative practice in GI/HPB surgery and therapeutic endoscopy in a tertiary-care setting.
  • Valid medical registration and up-to-date life-support certification (e.g., ACLS) as required by hospital policy.
