We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Physics & Math Tutor to provide high-quality academic support to students from Grade 11 through university level. The ideal candidate will have strong subject-matter expertise, excellent communication skills in English, and the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner. This role involves delivering individualized and group instruction to help students excel in physics, mathematics, and related coursework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-on-one tutoring sessions in Physics and Mathematics for high school senior and university-level students.
  • Teach core topics such as mechanics, electricity and magnetism, waves, calculus, algebra, trigonometry, statistics, and advanced math concepts as required by the student's curriculum.
  • Use English as the primary language of instruction and ensure clarity in explanations, examples, and academic vocabulary.
  • Prepare students for tests, exams, assignments, and competitive academic requirements.
  • Diagnose learning gaps and develop personalized learning plans tailored to each student's goals and needs.
  • Create practice exercises, problem sets, and supplementary materials to reinforce learning.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive, ongoing feedback to students and/or parents.
  • Maintain a supportive and motivating learning environment that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Education, or a related STEM field (Master's or higher preferred).
  • Strong proficiency in both Physics and Math at high school senior and university-level standards.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Prior experience teaching or tutoring students at advanced levels.
  • Ability to break down complex concepts into simple, understandable steps.
  • Strong organizational skills and reliability.
  • Must have your own device (laptop/tablet) and a quiet, distraction-free environment to conduct online classes.
  • Must be willing to complete a unpaid training program of 5–10 hours. Duration may vary depending on the candidate's skills and the amount of training required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience tutoring international students or multilingual learners.
  • Familiarity with AP, IB, Canadian curriculum, and/or university-level coursework.
  • Ability to integrate real-world examples and problem-solving strategies.
  • Confidence with online teaching tools and digital whiteboards.

Work Schedule & Compensation:

  • Scheduling based on student needs (early mornings/weekends required).
  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience and qualifications.
  • This is a freelance opportunity. Your caseload will be built gradually based on incoming student inquiries and your performance during the free training period.
  • No minimum hours are guaranteed.
