SucSEED Fellowship Program nurtures entrepreneurial & VC talent by offering hands-on experience in the startup ecosystem. Job Description
The 12-month-long full-time fellowship program aims to give the fellows a full taste of what happens in a VC fund. In this Fellowship, you will be expected to learn & understand the progress in the sector, build & maintain valuation-related analysis, prepare write-ups, present investment ideas to the Gaming, SportsTech & MediaTech Sectoral Committee, Investment Mgmt Team, Partners & Investment Committees, in order to take an informed call on early-stage deals. Once invested, grow the PortCo and create value for Investors through a healthy Exit.
For deserving candidates, the program offers a full-time opportunity from SucSEED or our associate firms.
Key Responsibilities
- Buy-side Sectoral Research leading to Deal discovery:
- Market Insights: Conduct primary and secondary research to uncover trends in Gaming, SportsTech, and MediaTech, including eSports, immersive media, gaming economies, sports and fan engagement technologies
- Industry Engagement: Represent us at global and regional events such as IGDC and Gamicon, identifying trends and fostering connections
- Discovery & Deal Evaluation:
- Pipeline Development: Partner with incubators, accelerators, and sourcing networks like ISB, STPI, and Aavishkar to discover startups that align with our investment thesis (inbound & outbound)
- Filter, Screen & interact with founders to appreciate their solutions.
- Collaborate with Sectoral Curators to help shape the Fund's roadmap & discover deals accordingly.
- Investment Management & Deal Execution:
- Startup Evaluation: Analyse product innovation, market opportunity, business projections & scalability, and competitive landscape
- Documentation: Prepare Investment Memos (IM) for the Investment Committee to identify investment interest and ensure IM covers all the salient points to get approval from the committees & LPs, delivered on time, as per the scope.
- Due Diligence: Support financial, technical & legal DD of potential investments, working with Curators and agencies.
- Portfolio Management & Value Creation:
- Scaling PortCos: Taking help from GSM Curators and work closely with GSM portfolio founders to develop an implementation plan, achieve Business Plans & drive Go-to-Market strategies, growth milestones and scale operations.
- Tracking Performance: Measure key financial and operational metrics against benchmarks & involve GSM Curators where needed. You will be expected to conduct in-depth benchmarking of valuation & operational metrics (vs. peer groups), and learn how other analyses could be helpful in Early-stage investments.
- Outreach: Create compelling materials to showcase portfolio significance to Clients, Partners and investors and help generate success.
- Strategic Engagement: Identify Clients, IB partners, corporate M&A teams and Private Equity who can bring maximum value towards the growth of our PortCos, with regular engagements through Portfolio Showcases.
- Sell-side Research & to co-create an actionable Exit Strategy:
- Sell-Side Research - Pointed research to identify potential white spaces in the market, the ability to exercise an Exit using those gaps & the value offered.
- Relationship & Engagement: Lead day-to-day execution of complex engagement with CorpDev Teams and Private Equity players across the Pre-Deal phase, Deal Execution phase.
- Business Development: Identify & convert client opportunities by building relationships with Global PE/M&A Leadership, Client Account Teams, & Client stakeholders in PE/Corporates across geographies. Harness extensive knowledge combined with an integrated suite of methods, people & assets to help the Fund create Value for Investors.
- Thought Leadership & Value Creation for the Fund:
- Thought Leadership: Publish insights on GSM industry trends, create & engage the community through actions and contribute to our intellectual capital creation.
- Practice Development: Contribute to the development of new assets / IP, thought capital & POVs, raising the profile of the team & the PortCo, leading to demand generation.
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
Fellowship is a stipend-led 12-month-long program, with multidisciplinary learning at its core, where a fellow would get an opportunity to work on the above dimensions of the VC ecosystem in the GSM sector, along with 1-2 smaller sectors also assigned for a wider flavour.

Fellowship Is IDEAL For a Person
- who feel that in the next 12-24 months, an MBA program shall give a boost to their professional journey & are open to INSTEAD explore alternative approaches to learn & grow, WITHOUT going through the MBA route.
- Who needs a new challenge & wants to get a taste of the VC industry, to switch careers.
- We expect the Fellowship candidates to complete a 12-month to get the most out of our program, and would accept a lock-in period of one year to ensure only committed candidates deserve to enter the program. The program combines structured mentorship with hands-on experience and offers tremendous opportunity to learn about VC & amplifying insights and understanding of India's startup ecosystem.

- Likes Gaming / Sports / Media - Bachelor's/ Master's degree in a related field
- Candidates with 0-3 yrs experience in the TMT Sector, Game Studio, Sport or Events Firm or in the Media Sector, Movies, OTTs, Music Industry, or adjacencies, ideally in business analysis or similar, covering Indian or global markets, will have an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Media convergence, Publications or distribution channels would be a plus.
- Likes Business, Finances & Accounting - Understands key concepts, financial statements & analysis.
- In addition to the above, candidates with equity research & valuation skills are encouraged to apply. Candidates with exposure to M&A consulting (e.g., advisory, strategy, management) or direct deal experience (e.g., PE, CorpDev, CVC) may be a plus.
- Extensive experience with project management, including organisation, prioritisation and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously & work well under pressure to drive tasks/ initiatives to completion.
- Excellent Communicator- ability to work with technical & non-technical stakeholders, with attention to detail & delivery method & swift negotiations.
- Exposure to fast-growing companies, digital startups, a top consulting firm or IBs.
