Role & responsibilities 4D BIM Planning & Simulation

  • Develop and maintain 4D simulations by linking project schedules with BIM models.
  • Use tools such as ASTA Powerproject (BIM module), Navisworks, Synchro, or Primavera for 4D planning.
  • Validate construction sequences and identify potential conflicts in time and space.

Schedule Integration

  • Work with project planners to alin WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) with BIM elements.
  • Ensure accurate mapping of activities to model components (location, phase, trade).
  • Support baseline, lookahead, and progress schedules through 4D workflows.

Collaboration & Coordination

  • Collaborate with design, planning, and site teams to communicate 4D outputs.
  • Support site teams in visualizing construction sequences for better decision-making.
  • Facilitate design reviews, constructability analysis, and stakeholder presentations.

Progress Tracking & Reporting

  • Use 4D simulations to monitor progress vs. planned schedule.
  • Generate reports, dashboards, and visual outputs for management and clients.
  • Assist in claim analysis, delay visualization, and scenario planning.

Technology & Standards

  • Support BIM Execution Plan (BEP) for 4D workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with company and project BIM standards.
  • Evaluate and recommend 4D BIM tools, automation scripts, and workflows.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Hands-on experience with 4D BIM tools: ASTA BIM module, Synchro 4D, Navisworks
  • Timeliner or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of project planning tools: ASTA Powerproject, Primavera P6, or MS
  • Project or agility to adapt new tool.
  • Good understanding of BIM authoring tools: Revit, Sketchup, Civil 3D, Tekla, etc.
  • Knowledge of construction sequencing, methods, and project execution.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas visually to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving, detail orientation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.

Preferred candidate profile

  1. Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
  2. Junior role - 8 to 15 yrs experience in project planning, BIM, or digital construction.
  3. Prior experience in 4D planning / simulation on large-scale projects (infrastructure, commercial, residential, or industrial).
  4. BIM certification (Autodesk, PMP, etc.) preferred.
