Powertrain Engineer
Experience: 4-8 yrs
Job Location: Pune
Job Description / Roles & Responsibilities:
Responsible for executing the activities necessary to ensure validated release and sign-off of dedicated vehicle components and sub-systems including co-ordination to ensure appropriate cross functional representation and input from all relevant areas.
The area of responsibility your activities will include:
• Packaging of High Voltage Cables, busbar and It's layout along with Plastic carriers required for HV & LV Battery pack.
• Update in harness routing and Busbar based on Repackaging of interface components with co-ordination to system integration engineering team.
• Understanding the Energy Storage system (Battery) sizing for Targeted vehicle performance.
• Collaborate with systems engineers to ensure implementation of design changes during program development, prototype and production build phases according to project timeline.
• Carry out stack-up analysis on Designed components.
• Develop harness/ Busbar/Cell packaging, list out issues and drive resolution prior to validation builds.
• Creating Test case, Design Rule or requirements as required.
• Benchmarking & Concept Development.
• Working on QAF, RFQ and Support Plan along with supplier/Buyer & VFM team.
• Creating and managing DFMEA, PFMEA, BOD, BOP.
• Comply with Grade/EMC/Safety Compliance.
• Design and develop interface Plastics / sheet metal components required in Battery enclosure.
• Support development of parts In-house or at supplier end.
• Support in testing of the parts at supplier or in-house as per DV or PV.
• Participate in Supplier PPAP activities & Periodic audits of suppliers to improve the quality and process improvements.
• Support builds, creating supply plan for M1/VB & for production cars (Saleable vehicles).
• Engineering solution for build issues & containing and fixing issues on current production vehicle.
• Support creating a Circuit Schematics and validate the circuit for full architecture of the vehicle.
• Release 3D Harness Assembly Model in PLM.
• Experience of various change management processes like Engineering Change Requests etc.
• Selection of harness coverings based on 3D model routing and packaging & surrounding geometry.
• Develop harness packaging issues list and drive resolution prior to validation builds.
Knowledge / Experience:
• Prior Experience on HV battery pack, Cells and Modules.
• Hands on experience with Designing and development on EDS HV harness and busbars, BMS.
• Hands on experience in GD&T and tolerance stack up along with Sheet metal and Plastic part design.
• Excellent communications skills demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels.
• Good Knowledge on Tooling feasibility, Raw materials and their sources & familiarity with full design life cycle process.
• Knowledge of EDU, Battery Modules, Busbar, DCDC converter and motors will be added advantage.
• Knowledge of Life cycle of a vehicle will be an added advantage.
• Key practitioner in problem solving techniques (eg: six-sigma)
• Understanding of DFMEA, PFMEA
• Experience of using industry standard ECR processes.
• Experience EDS power distribution and components.
• Good level of knowledge about manufacturing methods / technologies used for EDS Power Distribution
Preferred:
• Experience in Electrical wiring harness, busbar, Fuse, connectors, relays, routing and packaging in CATIA V5/V6
• Demonstrable experience of system release responsibility from concept to manufacture
• Working knowledge of project delivery processes
• Knowledge of bracket design/ plastic parts design
