About the Department:

The Merchant Acquiring Business (EDC Division) is one of Axis Banks key retail payment verticals, helping merchants accept digital payments through POS (EDC) terminals, QR, and payment gateway solutions. This department enables businesses to grow through data-driven technology and simplified transaction solutions.

About the Role:

As a Team Leader Merchant Acquiring Business, you will lead a team of Relationship Officers responsible for driving POS machine (EDC) and QR code sales. Youll ensure sales targets are met, merchant relationships are managed efficiently, and customer satisfaction remains high.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate a team of Relationship Officers to achieve monthly EDC sales and activation targets.
  • Identify and onboard new merchants for EDC, QR, and payment solutions.
  • Train, guide, and monitor the team on sales techniques, product knowledge, and daily field activities.
  • Drive merchant engagement and ensure high transaction volumes and device usage.
  • Resolve merchant queries, coordinate with operations for installation, and ensure timely support.
  • Prepare and share team performance reports with management.
  • Implement strategies to increase active merchant base and improve revenue productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments (Operations, Risk, and Service) to ensure seamless service delivery.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Proven experience in merchant acquiring / POS machine sales / payment solutions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Ability to train and motivate a sales team.
  • Good understanding of digital payments, EDC, QR, and card acquiring business.
  • Analytical mindset and data interpretation ability.
  • Target-oriented and proactive in planning and execution.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Education: Graduate / Post Graduate (Any Stream).
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in BFSI / Merchant Acquiring / Payment Sales.
  • Prior experience in leading a team of sales executives is mandatory.
  • Must be comfortable with field sales and merchant visits.
