Role :

Own the security enablement across three modules in a production network environment: Virtual Network Monitoring (VNM), URL Categorization, and IDS/IPS (signature-based).

What You'll Do

  • Enable VNM: collect flows/sessions, track top talkers and anomalies; build actionable dashboards & alerts.
  • Implement DNS/SNI-based URL filtering with allow/deny lists and exception workflow; contain DoH/DoT/QUIC bypasses.
  • Operate and tune signature-based IDS/IPS: begin alert-only, progress to selective blocking; manage rule lifecycle and reduce false positives.
  • Perform packet capture & analysis; write incident/runbook procedures (unblock, exceptions, rollback).

Skills & Tools

  • Linux networking (nftables/iptables, conntrack), tcpdump/pcap replay.
  • DNS policy with Unbound/Bind (or similar), category feeds & exception flows.
  • Hands-on operating/tuning signature-based IDS/IPS in production networks.
  • Bonus: eBPF/AF_XDP, PF_RING/netmap/DPDK.
