Role & responsibilities
Provide day-to-day PLM/CAD software applications support to individual customers by responding to technical support requests while using independent discretion and judgment in analysing and determining the probable cause of problems
Work collaboratively with internal team and external program reps to combine business requirements and software capabilities into a cohesive and optimized toolset
Provide guidance to individuals regarding PLM/CAD software applications usage and functionality, suggested techniques, best practices, and resolution to problems involving unexpected application behaviour
Assist and lead in the development of productivity-enhancing applications for use with in-place PLM/CAD software applications
Interface with PLM/CAD vendors to address escalated issues and problems
Interface with custom application developers to create and implement customized productivity-enhancing programs
Install, configure, customize, maintain, and upgrade PTC Windchill products. Provide technical support, server management, network, and database administration.
Troubleshoot Windchill technical issues including both server and CAD client-side., Manage System Performance using PTC System or other monitoring tools.
Develop and document processes and user guides. Use ticketing system to document requests, track changes, and explain resolutions.
Ensure that new users get PTC Windchill products properly installed with appropriate permissions. Liaison with the Cero / Windchill Users group, Maintain user statistics of PTC products.
Lead & support product updates, upgrades, and migrations
QA testing to support application code change, upgrades, migrations, etc.
Evaluate current and emerging technologies in the area of PLM/CAD
Preferred candidate profile
experience with PTC Windchill including both experience managing the tool and supporting the associated infrastructure.
Experience in working with engineering staff to diagnose and resolve issues. Experience with creating Windchill Products, Workflows, and Lifecycles and Cero configuration files.
Experience managing PLM or PDM systems. Familiarity with the various Windchill Modules and CAD Tools.
Excellent interpersonal skills suitable for user support and ability to work well with peer system administrators. Ability to time manage and prioritize projects.
Experience & knowledge with PLM systems (Windchill preferred) and knowledge of the following: CAD Data Management, Document Management, Change/Configuration Management, Approval Workflows, Bills of Material, Visualizations, Components Management, Supplier Management
Experience with CAD applications such as Creo, ACAD, and SolidWorks, solidage
Experience working with Linux, UNIX, and Windows environments
Demonstrated comprehensive problem solving skills; ability to find timely solutions while managing multiple tasks/priorities
