Early-stage, product-led B2B SaaS startup building developer-focused web applications in the security/compliance and risk tooling space. We're an on-site engineering-first team in India solving complex UX and performance problems for enterprise customers.

Founding Frontend Engineer (Lead Frontend Engineer) — On-site, India

About The Opportunity
Join the founding engineering team as the first dedicated frontend lead to define the product surface, shape the frontend architecture, and deliver polished, high-performance web experiences for enterprise users. You'll partner closely with product, design, and backend engineering to ship customer-impacting features quickly and reliably.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Own frontend architecture and ship end-to-end UI features using React and TypeScript, ensuring maintainability and scalability.
  • Design and implement performant, responsive, and accessible interfaces that meet WCAG standards and enterprise SLAs.
  • Collaborate with Product and Design to translate user problems into intuitive UX and measurable outcomes.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, and observability for frontend releases to ensure high quality and fast iteration.
  • Establish UI patterns and a design system; create documentation and code patterns that accelerate team development.
  • Mentor junior engineers, participate in hiring, and drive engineering best practices across the company.

Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have

  • 3+ years building production-grade frontends with React and TypeScript; strong JS fundamentals (ES6+).
  • Practical experience with modern frameworks or similar), state management, and component-driven development.
  • Proven track record of shipping high-quality UIs: testing (unit, integration, e2e), performance tuning, and accessibility fixes.
  • Familiarity with GraphQL/REST integrations, HTTP performance patterns, and CI/CD for web apps.
  • Strong product sensibility, communication skills, and ability to drive decisions in a fast-paced startup environment (on-site required).

Preferred

  • Experience building or owning a design system, familiarity with Tailwind/CSS-in-JS, or headless UI patterns.
  • Background in enterprise or B2B SaaS products, and experience working on security, compliance, or observability features.
  • Prior startup/founding-team experience and comfort with ambiguity, rapid iteration, and wearing multiple hats.
